This year, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Center for Sustainable Energy are among the key partnerships established to provide attendees the opportunity to discover new ways to operate sustainable buildings and businesses offering strategies on how to reduce overhead, manage risk & identify cost savings through sustainable practices.
BILL MCDONNELL, METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: STRATEGIES FOR SAVING BUILDING OWNERS MONEY & WATER
Building owners will learn about southern California’s past, current and future water supply conditions. Then we will look at opportunities available to building owners to help their buildings become more water and thereby more energy efficient. These services are available to small and large buildings throughout southern California.
Bill McDonnell, is the Water Efficiency Manager for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. His team oversees many programs including Metropolitan’s SoCal Water$mart Regional Rebate Program which covers both commercial and residential customers. Also, Bill’s team manages the Water Savings Incentive Program, the Innovative Conservation Program, Public Agency and Fitness Centers Programs, large landscape audits and residential landscape classes. He is also Metropolitan’s lead on the water and energy nexus front. Bill has more than 30 years’ experience in water and energy efficiency program management. In addition, he has been a Public Works Commissioner in the City of Chino Hills for almost 20 years.
GENE KOGAN, CENTER FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY: AUTOMATED DEMAND RESPONSE (ADR)
Automated Demand Response (ADR) programs provide businesses with financial incentives and technical assistance to install energy management equipment and controls that automate load reduction during demand response events. This seminar will provide an overview of ADR, including the opportunities and benefits of participating in ADR incentive programs
